Matthias is an architect, designer and technologist. His main interests lie in human computer interaction and entrepreneurship and how in combination they can be applied to broadly grant access and ability to the utilization of computational manufacturing technologies.
Matthias graduated with distinction from University of Technology Vienna receiving his Master’s Degree in Architecture. He has worked at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, ETH Zurich, the Austrian Institute of Technology and in the start-up and innovation sector.
His main project at MIT’s senseable city lab, ‘Local Warming’, was invited by Rem Koolhaas to be displayed at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2014. It was covered by several media such as The Economist, The Atlantic Cities and Wired Magazine.
He is currently building a company that will create and operate peer-to-peer manufacturing infrastructure.
In 2015 Matthias finished his first Marathon and has since been an avid endurance athlete with several marathons, Ironman-Triathlons and other endurance challenges under his belt. (You can read about his adventures on matthiastris.wordpress.com)
